From the beginning the Gardens have been shared with the community. Many organizations have had fundraising events here, garden visitors come regularly from retirement villages and hostels, parents and children can enjoy a picnic in the grounds. The gardens are primarily used for weddings with 3 different wedding gardens to choose from for your special day. Each of the Gardens has its own character as well as water features in each garden. The Gardens are becoming well known for their Devonshire Teas, tables and chairs are available in Carolena’s Garden and you need not walk through the Gardens to enjoy them.
Weddings: Is the speciality of the Gardens with 3 different wedding Gardens to choose from there is no doubt you will find a garden suitable for you wedding day.
John’s Garden: is connected by an Island and two bridges, being a popular Bridal Walk for weddings leading down to a pond area, which looks out to Moreton Bay and Islands. Under the all weather Band shell is our famous or infamous door! Its history goes back to the old Boggo Road goal- very popular by photographers. Basic BBQ, kitchen facilities, floodlighting tables and chairs are available. Many social functions are held in John’s Garden.
Carolena’s Garden: The largest of the 3 individual Gardens. Carolena’s has Bay views, park like grounds with large shade trees a pond and bridge, also a covered area – popular for weddings, Devonshire Teas and picnickers – ideal for parents with children – jumping castles have been placed here. Carolena’s has basic kitchen facilities and has seated 330 guests under marquee.
Betty’s Brook. This is the smallest of the 3 gardens, in the shape of a triangle; the apex is referred to as the “Lost World”- a gentle cascading waterfall flowing down in small pools is a backdrop, as you stand on the bridge straddling the pool which are adjacent to the rock registry table. Privacy and tranquillity ensures a magical romantic ambience for your special day. Walking form the “Lost World “the path leads past 140 year old mango trees to a more open area with a very large pond having a jetty, and a wooden “smoko” (registry table) nestled under a large mango tree. Many weddings are held on the jetty with photographers using the reflections and boat on the water as a feature.
Top Of The Mountain. A drive or walk is a ‘must’ to the more extensive panoramic views from the mountain top. Glasshouse Mountains to the north, east to Moreton Island and Bay Islands and along the ridge to south, Tamborine Mountain and the ranges to the west. Sunset wedding photos add a magical touch to your wedding with the setting sun filtering though the trees for that unique photo.
